I enjoy a wide variety of workouts, but running is definitely my happy place in the realm of fitness and outdoor activities. When my sneakers are laced up and pounding the pavement, I feel liberated, empowered and challenged. Even on the “bad” runs when I feel slow and sluggish, I’m still left with a sense of accomplishment at the end. It tends to be the tougher runs where your mind and body want to give up, but you push through that make you stronger, faster and more fierce. I’ve learned that running, like all endurance sports is 90% mental, and that what you think your body is capable of and what it is actually capable of are two very different things.
I’m excited to have partnered up with Runtastic this week to offer my readers some running and fitness facts. I always love learning more about the sport and being able to share my new knowledge with anyone who is interested. So here’s to a happy Friday and a weekend full of endless possibilities. Where will you be running or getting active this weekend?
