Once my daughter was introduced to solids, just before her 6 month milestone, there was no stopping what she would eat. I have yet to find a single food that she turns her nose up to. She gets excited when I place her in her highchair and even more excited when she see’s me pulling out food, especially certain ones like peas, squash, yogurt and sweet potatoes. It’s amazing how she remembers what she really loves!
When I first started giving her food, I was cooking everything and puree’ing it, and I tried to avoid any jarred or prepackaged foods. I figured because I’m home with her I didn’t really have an excuse. Besides, my husband and I eat fresh veggies and we’re always fully stocked, so cooking extra and simply preparing it a little different wasn’t a big deal and I enjoyed doing it. Then I read and reviewed the book Bananacondas, all about baby led weaning and slowly started changing the way I was feeding her. Instead of puree’ing everything under the sun, if the food was soft enough, I started giving her whole pieces. Yes, she’s gagged several times, but she is figuring out how to eat on her own and it’s a hell of a lot easier than having to all her food. Now when I give her things like yogurt she wants to feed herself and takes the spoon from my hands.
I recently had the opportunity to review Baby Mum-Mum Rice Biscuits, or perhaps I should say my daughter did! At first I was nervous to give them to her because they’re hard and fairly big. Certainly bigger than Puffs snacks, which she loves. So I admit when I first tried them, I was breaking them up into pieces for her. But, like Puffs they also melt in your mouth, so I finally took the plunge and let her try a whole one. And guess what, she loves it and did great! Baby Mum-Mum Rice Biscuits are perfect because they dissolve easily and they don’t make a mess which is a huge bonus for mom and dad. These are a great snack to start introducing solids and perfect for a teething baby.
Baby Mum-Mum Biscuits have quickly become one of the snacks my daughter gets very excited for when she see’s me grab the box And I have to admit that I tried them too and they’re quite delicious. I also like that they aren’t loaded with a bunch of sugar. I take a few with me when we go out and always have them on hand. They’re definitely baby and mommy approved!
I’m thrilled to have partnered up with Baby Mum-Mum and I’m hosting a giveaway for one lucky reader to win a variety case of Baby Mum-Mum Rice Biscuits.
