Becoming a mother really made me start taking a further look at the ingredients in each and every product I use. Whether it’s food, skincare or over the counter medication, I’m much more knowledgeable and aware of the chemicals in products that are harmful to our overall health. When the folks over at Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen asked me to review a few of their products, I jumped at the chance because their products are paraben, chemical and fragrance free.
What is Blue Australian Sunscreen? “Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen originated in Australia, where standards for sunscreen are the highest in the world. Even though Blue Lizard is now manufactured in the U.S., we still adhere to those strict standards to offer the most advanced formulations available in sun protection. Using only the highest quality ingredients, Blue Lizard delivers clinically proven, broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection in a mineral-based, water-resistant, SPF 30+ formulation. Our patented BPA-free Smart Bottle™ changes colors in the presence of harmful UV rays, reminding you to cover up. We offer an array of products for every skin type and outdoor need. It’s no wonder Blue Lizard is the brand most recommended by pediatricians, dermatologists, pharmacists, and moms that know a thing or two, nationwide.”
The products I received to test were 3oz Sport sunscreen, 3oz Sensitive sunscreen and 5oz Baby sunscreen, which are all SPF 30+. My husband and I were lucky enough to test our the sport and sensitive sunscreens in Puerto Rico, where the sun is much hotter and stronger than it is in Massachusetts. We spent five glorious days basking in Caribbean sun and we both absolutely loved the sunscreen. What I noticed right away was that when applying it on my face, it didn’t burn. Every single other sunscreen, whether face or regular, always burns and irritates my face when applying. I didn’t experience this at all with the Blue Lizard. We had 6oz of the sunscreen that lasted us the entire trip, even with reapplying several times during the day, and it provided us fantastic protection. Neither of us got a burn, and we returned home with a nice tan.
So far I’ve only had one opportunity to test out the Baby sunscreen on my daughter. Hopefully I’ll be applying it more frequently now that it’s May and the weather finally seems to be turning itself around! The one thing I noticed when using the Baby sunscreen on my daughter was that her skin turned a little bit pinkish in a few spots; however, it only lasted for about 20 minutes, and it certainly protected her from getting a sunburn.
Now, because I’m such a social media lover, I posted a picture on Facebook from the beach in Puerto Rico of my Sport and Sensitive Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen. On that post I ended up receiving a few comments from friends who have used their product, and they offered to allow me to use their exact comments.
Linda Gingola Robbins, Mother of two said, “ABSOLUTELY THE BEST STUFF EVAH!!!! Our son is allergic to EVERY other brand out there. Only down fall I can’t find it in any stores and I have spend $35 in a dermatologist office. Enjoy.”
Nicole Gauthier Downing, Mother of two said, “I can’t wait for the code!! We have to use it because our oldest daughter gets polymorphous light abruption on her face due to an allergy to the sun. Love that stuff!!”
What I love about Blue Lizard:
♦ Chemical and pareben free
♦ Full spectrum sunscreen
♦ Provides broad UV coverage
♦ Is doctor, dermatologist and pharmacist recommended.
Not only do I really like the sunscreen, but I love their packaging too. All Blue Lizard Australian products come in their patented “Smart Bottles” and change color when exposed to UV light. Pretty neat!
Would I use and buy this product again? Yes, and I definitely plan on using Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen this summer. The fact that it’s chemical and paraben free means it’s a safe sunscreen, and it provided my family and I full protection from harmful UV rays.
Beyond my glowing review for Blue Lizard, I’m also excited to offer for ONE lucky reader to win a 3oz Face, 3oz Sensitive, 3oz Sport, 2 Baby sachets (samples) and color-change bracelet. This giveaway is open US residents only.
