I’ve always been a girly girl, so when it comes to my appearance, I absolutely love trendy apparel and accessories. It doesn’t matter if I’m headed out for a night on the town, going for a run or simply doing errands, I like to dress fashionable. What I wear on the outside reflects how I feel on the inside, and I like to look good and feel good from the inside out.
When it comes to fitness, I can’t help but to dress chic. I find it helps boost my motivation to wear fun workout gear. I have three “must haves” when it comes to active gear – comfort, fashion and function. That good old saying, “You get what you pay for” holds true, especially in the gear you wear.
Clothing that I simply won’t skimp on are sports bras, yoga pants, womens ski pants and jackets and womens running gear. Seriously, a mediocre ski jacket or pair of running leggings can totally screw up an entire workout for me. In fact, it has in the past. I remember wearing a pair of $27 leggings on a run and after 3 miles, I had to give it up because my entire run was spent readjusting my pants. So not functional!
Sweaty Betty is a brand I recently stumbled upon that I am itching to try. They marry fashion and function beautifully, and offer a variety of active gear with unique and eccentric patterns that scream “wear me!” I’ve been perusing their website and started creating a “wish list” of items that I want to add to my collection. Because a fit girl can never have too much activewear! Am I right, or am I right ladies?!
Seeing as ski season is upon us, I gravitated straight towards their winter weather attire. Check out this 3 In 1 All Trail Jacket. I’m in love! It’s waterproof, it has a thermal layer and an adjustable hood and sleeves. Not to mention it’s colorful and super cute. I’m also loving these Chandrasana Yoga Leggings – they’re made with soft comfy fabric and are the right kind of bold that would have me inspired for any barre or yoga class.
When fashion meets fitness and function it creates a beautiful relationship, and Sweaty Betty nails it. Of course, now that I’ll be working as a fitness instructor, sporting the proper active gear from head to toe in all my classes will be an absolute must! So, what brands and technologies do you like? And have any of you checked out Sweaty Betty yet? If you haven’t I urge you should take a look. I look forward to hearing what some of your favorite brands and items are!
