More and more, this is where I come when I need to clear my head. It’s where I come when I need to organize my thoughts and talk without actually talking. I can express what’s going on inside my head without having to listen to someone offer advice or comment back. Because sometimes I simply don’t care what other people have to say or what they think. It’s a place where only I matter and where opinions of others do not. It’s a safe place where I can let my word vomit run free without it being critiqued. Writing has always been something I have found liberating and my blog is quickly becoming home for my thoughts. A place where I feel comfortable “saying” whatever I want whenever I want. I’m not looking for perfection; I’m looking for an outlet. A place where I can come and tune everything else out that’s going on around me and vent about nothing, something, and everything.
Growing up I wrote a lot of poetry and in college my poetry turned into song lyrics. One thing I have found is that no matter what you are writing, whether it’s a short story, a poem, or a song, once your thoughts are out on paper (or nowadays on a computer) it’s their home. Perfectly placed thoughts in an organized place to express a certain situation that allows the writer to feel liberated, to feel better. Sometimes your thoughts and stories speak to others allowing other people to connect with you. Sometimes they will never be read by anyone other than the writer. But as a writer, I have found that what matters most is your words and thoughts have a safe home. They need a place where you feel it’s safe to keep them. Maybe they’ll stay locked up on paper or on your laptop for no one else to see, but don’t keep them locked up inside you. My Blog, home for my thoughts. Where is yours?
