Every good, seasoned writer knows that a catchy title is key. It’s called link bait. A title is what grabs the attention of your audience and reels them into reading your work. Do I think I “nail it” every time? Probably not, but then again, it also depends on what my goal is and who I’m trying to reach. There are times I want to grab your attention and make you laugh and cry with me. Then there are times where I’m simply just writing for myself. Hand written in old journals, I have countless poems, songs and blogs that I’ve never shared at all. Believe it or not, even I think some things are personal and should be kept to myself. But, most of the time I put it all out there. The majority of my blogs start with a title. Typically, a crafty creative thought will come to mind and I jot it down and go back to it later and write. The few times I start writing without a title first, I end up sitting for hours stumped on what to name my piece. You see, writing is an art form, and the title is just as important as your body of work.
For months I’ve been toying with changing the name of my blog. I’ve bounced different ideas around for a while, and today I finally took the plunge. I’ll be honest, I never loved my old title, Life, Love, Marriage and Everything in Between. I liked it, but I was never truly sold on it. I never truly loved it. Today I officially gave my name a change to something I think is simple, but fitting – For the Love of Family, Fitness & Food. I’m not an expert and I’m not a professional. I’m just a housewife and a new mom that has a love and passion for all things family, fitness and food. I bleed creativity at all times. Whether it be in the kitchen, on a blank piece of paper, music or in my workouts, I thrive on being creative. One of the many reasons why I love working out is it gives me the opportunity to compile the creative thoughts and ideas I have floating around my head all day.
So, here’s to my new title with the same thoughts and work of art, and continuing to do what I have always loved to do – write, connect, network and share! I hope you’ll keep reading!
