Seven sunsets but I want one more
Where the sunshine meets the shore
Casting light it glistens all day
Across the ocean, across on the bay
Breathing in the salty sea air
I’m magnetic to the solar flare
The gentle waves shimmering at sundown
Draw me in and leave me spellbound
The horizon painted orange the sun like a cherry
Serene seascapes color me merry
The pastel shades blending lustrous and bright
As another summer day turns into night
My happy place, my home away from home
The ocean is where my heart and soul roam
And even on a cold winters day
The ocean is where I want to play
A holiday, a peaceful moment in time
Collecting memories that will forever be mine
I’m blissful as the days pass me by
But saddened as I say goodbye
In the blink of an eye it’s time to leave
Missing the sun and the sea, I grieve
So until we meet again next year
I’ll hold these memories and moments so dear
Seven sunsets but I want one more
Where the sunshine meets the shore
In my kayak I’m paddling to you
To the sun, to the sky across the ocean blue
