As a runner and overall fitness fanatic, I’m always on the lookout for the latest and greatest. From top-notch high quality performance gear to the best all-natural hydration and refueling products, I love testing new brands and adding to my growing collection.
In December I was given the opportunity to test out RunnerBox, a subscription based box for runners and active people. Runnerbox is small shoe-box filled with products that gets mailed to right to your door step every month. It has everything from safety products, chews, protein powder, nutrition bars and fun fitness accessories. Really, what more could a runner girl want?!
When my box arrived it felt like Christmas arrived a little early. There were so many goodies inside; some I was familiar with and others I was not. My husband being a cyclist was also excited to help me test out the products as well. Sharing is caring, of course, and I was happy to let him in on some of the goodies.
The December RunnerBox included the following
• A Runnerbox fleece headband
• Clif Organic Energy Food
• Peak Energy Mints
• Gnarly Whey
• Garuka Bars
• DRIV
• Gnarly Pump
• Detour Sample
• HEX Performance
• Purely Elizabeth
• Crisp Greens
• Chao Chocolatier
Now admittedly, I’m not someone who typically takes supplements. On occasion I’ll have a protein shake post a long run or hard weight training workout, but most of the time I prefer to get the nutrition and energy my body needs from real whole foods. It’s just simply my personal preference. So some of the stuff in the shoe-box definitely excited me, while other stuff didn’t totally cater to me. With that said, now that I’m training for the 2016 Boston Marathon (more on that to come later!), I have to really learn how to fuel on longer runs which includes eating chews and energy bites, because my body will absolutely need food to safely power through.
My personal favorites from the box are the fleece headband, the Purely Elizabeth pumpkin & fig Ancient grain granola and Crispy Green’s dried Mango bites. My daughter also loved the dried mango bites! My husband is already a fan of Clif and he also really liked the Garuka bar made with Vermont raw honey and wholesome ingredients.
Now the moment of truth, would I recommend RunnerBox? I think for someone who runs at least 3 times a week, races frequently, enjoys trying a variety of products including energy chews and supplements and likes having samples on hand, then this is definitely a subscription worth looking into. I think it’s especially useful for long distance runners and endurance athletes.
RunnerBox doesn’t just cater to runners, they also cater to cyclist and triathletes as well, and they have a variety of boxes to choose from including custom boxes. Want to try one for yourself? Use the code SUE50 between now and February 15th and save 50% off the first box of any subscription!
This was a fun little box for my husband and I to share. So if you’re a fitness and endurance lover like we are, give RunnerBox a whirl! You’ll have the opportunity to try new products and I’m willing to bet you’ll something new each month that you love!
Happy running! 🙂
