Once again Facebook has an epidemic flooding my newsfeed. A personal facts game. Comment or “like” someone’s facts status and I guess the rules are you have to play too. Of course, as I sit here drinking my green juice on this lazy Saturday morning, everything I try to come up with is a paragraph; not a sentence. So I figured instead of posting a mile long list of eleven facts in a status, I’d just blog it. Thank you Jessica Spinazola for helping me dig out eleven facts to write about myself.
1. I was a chubby kid and in High school I couldn’t even run around a track once without blacking out, literally. I dropped 30lbs (pre-pregnancy) and have since ran three half marathons along with several other 5ks, 10ks and mud runs. Working out, fitness and being healthy are hugely important pieces to my life and I’m grateful to have found that side of me.
2. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in voice/songwriting, but taking a Nutrition class (at a community college) my last semester was by far one of my favorite classes, and one of the most interesting classes I’ve ever taken. It unleashed an entire new passion within myself and changed my life.
3. I met my husband while he was on a date with another girl he had just met the week before and while I was out with a friend on my “one month liberation celebration” from kicking my ex boyfriend out of my apartment. The girl my husband was with quickly grew not to like us when we started dating, but deep down I’ll be forever thankful for her because she’s part of the reason we met.
4. I’m completely obsessed with the holiday season and I instantly turn into a five year old kid when Christmas time rolls around. The magic of Christmas lives in my heart all year long, and I cannot wait to see Christmas every year through my daughters eyes. I hope she shares the same love for Christmas as I do and feels the magic of Christmas in her heart because it’s an unexplainable and priceless feeling.
5. I’ve never once thrown up from drinking too much, I’ve never once had a hang over and I’ve never in my life been able to finish an entire drink by myself. I have zero tolerance for alcohol, but am OK with that because I’m always (as my dad says) “high on life” and have been known to be the sober girl at a club dancing like a wild woman doing splits on the bar…true story, just ask my husband. Side note, I’m petrified of vomiting and when I was a teenager my father joked that if I got pregnant or drank too much I’d throw up.
6. I’ve always had issues with anxiety and am a total hypochondriac. Before becoming pregnant, I used to have full blown panic attacks worrying about pregnancy and child birth, but oddly enough, I’ve been completely relaxed and happy so far. I think it’s calmed me…
7. Some people live their lives full of regrets. Past relationships, past decisions, but I think every previous relationship taught me something important and every decision I’ve made, whether good or bad, has taught me a life lesson. I have zero regrets.
8. I love living in New England and I LOVE the snow. I literally get pissed when New England natives complain about the weather in the winter. If you’re that miserable, pack your bags and migrate south.
9. I have joked from day one about all the crazy things my body is enduring while being pregnant, but I secretly love it and think that being a mother is truly what I was meant to be “when I grew up.”
10. I never understand why some women are so materialistic and marry for money. I wouldn’t trade the love or relationship I have with my husband for anything in the world. Mushy, romantic, ridiculous, he is the love of my life, my best friend and my rock. I’d give up every material thing if it meant keeping him.
11. I very often want to start my own restaurant with my husband because we love cooking and being creative in the kitchen, but then I remind myself that I don’t want to work weekends or lose time with my family. I want to dedicate as much time as possible to my husband and kids because family is above all what means the most to me in life. For me, having a happy family is a happy and successful life.
Maybe I could start a blog epidemic? If you have your own blog and comment, I’ll give you a number and you can play too!
Happy fact finding blog lovahs!
