As a busy mom with various part-time jobs, I’m always looking for healthy snacks that I can take with me on-the-go. Whether it’s a recipe for a batch of healthy homemade muffins or nutrition bars, I try to be stocked up on snacks that are quick, easy and nutritious. Unfortunately, the majority of nutrition bars on the market tend to be loaded with unwanted sugar, calories and ingredients that simply aren’t up to my standards when it comes to health and nutrition.
But all that changed when I was asked to review theSaladBar, and I was immediately intrigued and excited by list of organic healthy ingredients. What is theSaladBar? It’s a nutrition bar that is actually nutritious. In under 200 calories, theSaladBar delivers a full serving of veggies, 46% of your daily fiber and is a rich source of vitamins such as vitamin C, Vitamin A and iron. The company worked diligently with nutritionists and scientists to create a snack that was not only nutritious, but also fulfilling and delicious. A definite feat when it comes to prepackaged snacks.
Jam-packed with superfoods such as cashew butter, kale and quinoa, just to name a few, theSaladBar contains 7 grams of protein and is 7 grams (or under) in sugar. The sugar content alone is a huge plus for me as some bars on the market have 20+ grams of sugar which is over 4 teaspoons. A little nutrition tidbit, when you consume sugar your body can do either one of two things with it, it can burn it off, or convert it to fat. So if you’re consuming more sugar in a day than what you’re burning off, your body stores it as fat. Yikes!
So, how did theSaladBar measure up when I actually tried them? I was given four Carrot Spice bars to try and I absolutely LOVED them! In fact, they are by far one of the most delicious nutrition bars I’ve ever tried, the only difference is I actually felt confident I was eating a healthy snack. My husband also tried a bar and gave it two thumbs up. They’re the perfect snack to refuel after a workout and it’s a product I would definitely buy. So if you’re a health nut like I am, and you’re looking for a nutritious snack that you can take on-the-go, I highly recommend trying theSaladBar!
