For a long time, I never saw myself as someone who inspired other people when it came to health and fitness. I looked at myself as the girl that was once chubby and weighed 150 pounds (way before pregnancy and childbirth), and struggled to find my way to a healthy fit body. But so many of my close-knit group of friends and family always tell me how inspiring I am and often ask me for tips and advice when it comes to eating a cleat diet or finding a workout regimen. I never realized or would have imagined that I’d be an inspiration for people to get into shape, and I’m always honored when given the chance to help someone out or be the motivation for someone to make a healthy change.
A few of my friends kept suggesting I apply for a few fitness ambassadorships. So I thought, “What the hell! Why not?!” I might not be some professional in the field (yet :)!), but I come from and write from over 10 years experience of being a complete and total fitness fanatic. I’ve taken nutrition courses, I’ve worked with personal trainers, I’ve completed half marathons, 5ks, 10ks, mud runs, cycling events and I have simply been dedicated to learning what a fit and healthy body is. I can honestly write that one of the biggest lessons I have learned is that being skinny doesn’t necessarily mean fit and healthy. And that being healthy is actually quite easy, but finding my way here was a challenge.
On August 24th, I was psyched to have been accepted as a Sweat Pink Ambassador, and I’m absolutely LOVING being a part of such a wonderful group of supportive women. Women whose fitness levels range from beginner to expert. I’ve connected with some that are just starting out in their journey to fitness, while others are seasoned veterans. I love everything Fit Approach stands for and offers, and last week I partook in their five day #SweatPinkAutumn challenge. I think what I loved most about it was unlike every other challenge I’ve done, they didn’t blast out a calendar with a list of what each days task was ahead of time. We had to visit their Instagram each day to see what was next. Originally I assumed I’d be faced with physical challenges, but it was actually different and quite creative. Instead of explaining the challenge with a run on of words, here are my pictures to see for yourself.
This challenge was creative and fun, and I totally found myself stalking Fit Approach on Instagram every day. I loved connecting with new sweat pink ladies along the way and checking out all the different pictures and posts.
Something I realized far before becoming a fitness and brand ambassador is that it doesn’t matter what level of fitness someone has, or what their shape and size is, if they’re out there moving their body and living a healthy life, then I’m inspired and motivated by them. And it’s a huge reason why I wanted to join this group of amazing women. I’m looking forward to inspire and be inspired by all the other amazing ambassadors, and continuing to sweat pink! 🙂
