Dear daughter…
There are a few things I want you to know…
I’m a very impatient person, but you are teaching me everyday to slow down, embrace being calm and have more patience. Thank you for pushing me to change for the better.
Dear daughter…
I have a potty mouth. Sometimes it’s out of humor and sarcasm, but sometimes it’s out of anger. Thank you for reminding me not to say naughty words when I slip up around you. You’re teaching me to watch my language and to be more polished when I speak.
Dear daughter…
I don’t always balance my time out appropriately. Thank you for asking me to play with you every day. You remind me that no matter how many errands or side jobs I have on my plate, none of them are nearly as important as spending time with you.
Dear daughter…
Most of the time I’m happy, upbeat and positive, but some days I’m tired, overwhelmed, and feel moody. Thank you for reminding me on those days that it feels so much better to smile and be grateful than it does to be melancholy and negative.
Dear daughter…
I absolutely positively always want what’s best for you. But I’m human, and sometimes I mess up. Thank you for always forgiving me and never holding a grudge when I don’t do everything perfectly.
Dear daughter…
You are bold, strong-willed and incredibly determined. While these traits are challenging for me while you’re young, I couldn’t be more proud of who you naturally are. I have zero doubt that you will reach for the stars and shoot past them.
Dear daughter…
You are an intelligent fearless leader, and you march to the beat of your own drum. We are a lot alike in many ways, but I see so much of who I want to be in everything that you already are. You amaze me every day.
Dear daughter…
You are funny, charming and full of fiery passion. You light up every room you enter, and every life that you meet. It makes my heart full happiness to see what a beautiful soul you have, and how much you touch others in a positive way.
Dear daughter…
You are caring, sweet and sympathetic. I’m constantly amazed and impressed that at 2 1/2 years old you have already acquired these qualities.
Dear daughter…
You are spunky, sassy and full of pizzazz. You are a joy to be around and I feel blessed every single day to have you in my life, and I often wonder what I did before you came along.
Dear daughter…
Please don’t ever lose these qualities, for they are rare and hard to find. Please always be true to yourself, and continue to be the amazing and beautiful person that you are. Don’t be afraid to fall, but don’t let others be the ones to knock you down. Don’t let the negativity of the world, the jealousy of someone else or the bitterness of a tough situation dictate your day, how you feel or who you are. Don’t change for anyone else; always be who you were meant to be.
Dear daughter…
There’s just one last thing… Don’t ever forget how much I love you, and how incredibly proud I am of you. I am honored to be your mom, and I’m thankful for all that you teach me and all that you give me every single day. You are bright and shining star, and I’m looking forward to watching you soar far past the sun.
Love always,
Mommy
